Ayurveda – A Brief Introduction
Ayurveda is the science of life (Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word derived
from two roots - Ayur meaning life and Veda which means pure knowledge).
It is the oldest and most complete healing system in existence and it
provides comprehensive instructions and techniques for the care of the
body, mind and energy system.
Ayurveda regards the mind,
body and spirit as being interconnected and teaches that separating
these three intimately related areas leads to imbalance in the physical
body as the first stage of the dis-ease process. Ayurveda promotes
integration of the whole person as the first step towards real healing
and, at last, the western world is waking up and taking interest.

Ayurveda: Milk as medicine?
According to Ayurveda
there are certain foodstuffs that are classified as "rasayana" that
means that they are extremely nourishing and even rejuvenating to the
body. Milk is one such substance. Here Ayurveda provides an alternative
viewpoint to the generalistic proclamation that dairy products are “bad”
and contain the “wrong kind” of fat.
Click read more to explore
the Ayurvedic viewpoint on dairy products and the significance of
milk and the cow in Vedic Culture.
